Doomsday Talks to Horfee.

We caught up with Horfee on the last day of his trip to Australia for the ‘Pathetic Bubble’ exhibition at Doomsday. He answered a few questions about his time here and his impressions of the city. The exhibition is up for a few more days, be sure to drop in and check it out if you haven’t already.

DOOMSDAY IS HERE, THE WORLD TURNS TO SHIT AND YOU HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR HOME BEHIND. WHAT DO YOU TAKE?
Ahhhh I don’t take anything, I just leave my house and just try to build something new and take the opportunity. Go with the homeless, homeless move.

WHAT IS THE MOST KITSCH THING ABOUT AUSTRALIA?
I thought the bars were pretty kitsch. It’s has something like a British vibe, but with all this country side living in Melbourne. Its like where I’m from, you have a house in the city it’s very grey, but then the house if full of plants, it’s very kitsch. So I thought it was very kitsch how you go to a bar and every one is drunk, off their face, then you just go out and it’s like full of plants, it’s so kitsch.

WAS FITZROY TUMBLR ENOUGH FOR YOU?
Yeah Fitzroy was very tumblr, in the shop, everything was very tumblr. It was very Tumblr what people were wearing, it’s like a Tumblr version of Williamsburg you know but I thought it was the little Brooklyn of the city. It faces the city like Brooklyn. I thought it was very chill and I appreciated the calm.

VEGGIE BAR OR VIET ROSE?
Ohhh my god, so fucken Viet Rose, of course! Veggie Bar is full of fucking Vice bitch. It’s like fucking Vice, oh yeah vice vice, it’s so vice in here. So forget about it, it’s not my shit.

WHAT’S YOUR BEST MEMORY FROM THE TRIP?
Ahhhh I’ll say the beach side. It’s the only day I had off to enjoy this, only day off of the trip it was cool. I thought the beach side here was better here then Bondi. Bondi Sydney is very LA, like working off ice cream, all the 90’s package, taco truck and everything. It’s was cool to go to the countryside, proper worker, I appreciate a proper day off.

SEAN PENN ON ICE?
Sean Penn on ice, with Jay-Z jumping out of a plane with a super jet pack
